Megan King
Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist
Megan studied at The Cambridge School of Sports Massage which is affiliated with the ISRM, qualifying with a BTEC level 5 diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage.
Having trained as a classical ballet dancer and had a professional career in dance, Megan has a very good understanding of the way the body functions. She found that during her dance training and whilst performing, having regular massage treatment, reduced the risk of injury, improved range of movement and reduced muscle tension, allowing her to perform to her best ability. Having witnessed how important this therapy is for the body, she decided to further her knowledge by studying and gaining the highest qualification possible in the UK in this area.
"I create treatment plans to fit each individual's needs, rather than performing a routine massage. Everyone is different, so I feel it is important to use different techniques, in order for the client to gain the best possible outcome, allowing them to lead an injury and pain free life".
"Soft Tissue Therapy is not a miracle cure but it can often come pretty close to that."

FAQS
Here are some frequently asked questions. If you are unable to find the answer you are looking for, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will be more than happy to answer your questions to the best of our ability.
Do I have to take part in a sports to receive your type of treatment?
No, soft tissue and massage therapy is suitable for anyone and everyone! I treat a whole range of people with different occupations, from desk jobs, manual labourers, carers, parents, athletes, people with injuries or preparing for an event. It really is beneficial to all.
Will the treatment be painful?
No...the aim is not to cause you pain but to reduce it. In saying this, sometimes there may be specific areas which are tight or there is a build up of scar tissue, causing restricted movement and/or discomfort. If this is the case I may need to work a little deeper or use techniques which cause a small amount of discomfort to begin with but will ease off after a short while.
What should I wear?
When applying massage techniques, I may require for certain parts of the body to be exposed. Client's often wear their underwear, however not everyone feels comfortable with this. In this case loose clothing is fine, e.g. shorts, gym clothing etc. I have a very professional approach, using towels to ensure the client never feels exposed and can feel comfortable.
Do you accept card payment?
I currently do not have card payment facilities. Payment is by cash or cheque at the end of the treatment session. My apologies for any inconvenience caused.
What should I do if I am feeling unwell?
If you have a cold or feeling unwell, it is important that you do not attend your appointment, as massage can encourage a virus to spread. Contact BioBodTherapy as soon as you can to re-arrange your appointment.
What should I expect?
The initial appointment is 60 minutes, it can then be either 30, or 60 minutes thereafter, depending on your preference. The session will begin with me asking you some questions, allowing me to get to know you a little better and to find out about your injury/ medical history. I will make a few notes to keep on record, and for me to refer back to, if necessary. We will discuss your current symptoms and then do a full body assessment, checking your posture and do various tests to check your range of movement. I will discuss with you, what my plan is for the current session. Once the session has ended, I will then create a treatment plan for you, arrange future appointments and give you some stretches or exercises that can be done at home.
